Double Diamond X Ranch Wedding Venue
I have had the opportunity to photograph at the Double Diamond X Ranch outside of Cody, Wyoming so I wanted to take a moment and let you guys know a little bit about it!
First of all, it is obviously gorgeous! If you are looking for mountains, and mountains, and more mountains to frame your wedding day look no further. Beyond the landscape though, the cabins, the pavilion, and ceremony locations they have at this venue are beautiful, clean, and close together. Logistically, this venue is really great.
DDX is the premier wedding venue in the area. With exclusive access to the ranch at the end of the road, your wedding will be an undisturbed paradise.
Ceremony Locations
I’m sure you could probably get married all over the ranch, but they have two locations I have seen them offer customers that look and work great. The main location is just below the Shoshone cabin. This works especially well if you use the Shoshone Cabin to get ready, and once you see the pictures of the Shoshone Cabin, you’ll definitely want to get ready there. The second location is up next to the pavilion. Both locations look out toward the same mountain range.
You can see they have this hexagon arch that you can ask for if you would like. It is wooden and the local florists do a fantastic job of decorating it every time! All of these images are from the ceremony location near the pavilion. I have not photographed a wedding at the River Location yet. I did however take these portraits at the River Location.
Shoshone Cabin: Getting Ready
It is common for the bridal party to get ready at the Shoshone Cabin and it works really well for it. My favorite thing about this cabin is that it has LOTS of natural light and huge windows. You get to really enjoy the landscape around you while you get ready and the lighting works well for the makeup artists and for me (the photographer).
The porch around it is great for getting portraits during all hours of the day. It has rocking chairs and plenty of room to take in your morning coffee and let your wedding day really sink in. I have also done flatly photographs out here as well.
The Shoshone Cabin is surrounded by a yard that is a great spot to do bridal portraits as well. The sun sets on the mountains behind the yard and it creates a really beautiful backdrop.
The Pavilion
The Pavilion is a great choice for your reception. It is at the main entrance to the ranch and is easy to find. The rest of the cabins for your guests can be found around the pavilion which makes it super convenient for your guests. There is a boardwalk that leads directly to the saloon so it is easy to travel back and forth for drinks if you need to. There is also a basketball court outside of the pavilion if you have littles that need entertained.
Saloon
Double Diamond X Ranch has a full bar located in the Saloon. This is right next to the Pavilion. It has plenty of room for sitting and has a pool table. It could be great for the groom’s party to get ready or hang out in after they are ready to go!
This just a snippet of what you can expect from this venue. Matt and Jenine are incredibly kind and are a joy to work with. They have a great a location and are very generous to offer it to the public for us to enjoy as well. You can learn more about Double Diamond X Ranch, Matt and Jenine, and details about your wedding on their website that I linked here.
